More on the Ch 7-11 Test

Chapter 7-11 Test Coming Soon

With interruptions in the schedule this week and next week, testing days are as follows

  • Fri 3/6: 237/239/241 will start with the Short Response questions
  • Monday 3/9: ALL classes will complete the Multiple-Choice part of the test and use any extra time on the Short Response (as needed)
  • Tuesday 3/10 (half-day schedule): 237/241/250 will continue with Short Response (as needed)

  • 10 Multiple-Choice Questions
  • 2 Short Response Questions: This time students will answer BOTH of the questions.

Lyddie Ch 7-11 Test: Review topics
  • Diana gives Lyddie an opportunity to write to her mom and Charlie.  Why is this so important?

  • Amelia/Prudence/Betsy
    • What do you know about their character traits?

    • What do you know about their interactions with others?


  • Some of the girls leave the factory for the summer.
    • Why are they allowed to leave and Lyddie is not?

    • What would happen if Lyddie left?

  • Betsy reads Lyddie Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens
    • How does Lyddie feel about Betsy doing this?

    • What is it about the book that grabs and keeps Lyddie’s attention?

  • What are the examples of working conditions that the workers deal with in the factory?

  • How do the working conditions affect the workers?

  • What was the stagecoach ride like (on Lyddie’s ride to her new life as a factory girl)?


  • 6 of the 10 multiple choice are figuring out vocabulary in context.  Many of those words are vocabulary featured in the workbook on vocabulary pages with the notes as well as activities like WB pages 45-46
